Life

I have been MIA for a while and have so much to blog about.... School coming to an end, Britney Spears concert with Mallory, My birthday and our trip to Phoenix, and more. But all of that will have to come in another post.

My close family friend that I have known since I was born, Geoff, died of cancer yesterday. He was diagnosed last March and fought a long hard battle until yesterday afternoon when he passed. I have known that this day was coming for a while, but still nothing seemed to make me feel any better. Last night Glen came home from school with all of this...

My husband is so kind and thoughtful. I may or may not have laid on the couch and ate everything in sight with one hand and used tissues to blow my nose and wipe my tears with the other hand (not a pretty picture). I don't know why, but pizza and ice cream sure seemed to bring some comfort. I love my husband and think he is the greatest, but today when I weigh myself I might have different thoughts. :)

I feel so incredibly grateful for the life and the health that I have. Life is so fragile. It is crazy to know that a 24-year-old healthy guy like Geoff can lose his life to cancer. It makes me never want to take another day for granted, for life truly is a gift. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and for the comfort and peace that it brings me. I sure hope that there is a Lake Powell in heaven, and If so I will be seeing Geoff there some day.

On a positive note, I get to fly back home and see my family again and my sister who lives in DC.

This made me tear up. I'm so sorry for your broken heart and the loss of your friend. I know how that feels, I lost one of my friends unexpectedly a couple of summers ago. I'm glad Glen is so good at taking care of you!
