When Preston was 5 months young, I was pregnant with Porter (miraculous conception remember?). Because of the closeness in age, I was always looking forward to the next stage in Preston's life. I couldn't wait for him to crawl, walk, take a bottle, eat solids, etc. I was wanting him to become more dependent so that when the new baby came he would be able to do more toddler like things and be the big brother.
Nine months later came and I realized I did not not have a newborn and toddler, I had two babies. A newborn, and a 14 month old. Those first few months are a blur. It was nothing less then chaos.... two babies, and a new house.
Another nine months later and you have us here, today, our current state, and things are great. Our home feels like home, our newborn is now 9 months, our oldest baby is now a toddler (23 months tomorrow) and life is still crazy, but we have grown a lot more accustom to it.
Instead of wishing for the future, I want to stop time. I want to keep Porter a baby. I want him to stay little forever. With no plans of a third baby anytime soon, I want to really enjoy him, and keep him a baby. I would be ok if Preston passed through his recent phase a little quicker, but not Porter! :)
Porter at 9 months:
-crawl everywhere
-sit up
-take great naps and sleep 10 hours at night
-clap
-smile at everyone and everything
-love the bath and shower
-obsess over your brother
-already enjoy wrestling
-copy your dad and click your mouth
Preston at 23 months:
-Talk more and more everyday
-grown very attached to Kensley, Taylor, and Katie
-still loves your papa best
-are mischievous beyond words
-loves playing outside
-water is your favorite (bottles, hose, pool, shower, tub)
-love your little brother
-started throwing tantrums and fake crying
I love these little monsters more then anything in this world. I am eternally grateful to be their mom. They make me want to be better, and do better. I'm also grateful for their dad. There is no one in this world i would rather go through the day to day with. He is my best friend. Life is sweet.
The last few weeks we have been going to the zoo, playing with cousins, going to the park, enjoying the perfect weather, split a lip and broke one nose (preston's), lost all the baby weight, and planning a trip to disneyland.
