16 and pregnant.... sad, sad show. I seriously don't know why I decided to watch this, but last night I got hooked. Catelynn a 16 year old girl and her boyfriend got pregnant.... same beginning as the other previous episodes. However, these two were the only ones that decided to give their baby girl up for adoption.
They had zero support from their parents, which absolutely shocked me! The parents told the young couple how selfish they were for giving their baby away. What the??? So backwards, it was crazy... I wanted to jump through the flat screen and slap these people around. I couldn't believe the opposition that Catelynn had to face. You would think that most parents would almost force the young parent to give the baby up, but not Catelynn's.
Although she shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place, it was so admirable to see how she handled the situation. She did the most selfless thing she could have done. While meeting the prospective adoptive parents she said, "I just want her to have better than what I had, and I know I can't do that, so I'm just doing the thing that I think is the best. And I know you guys can provide for her a lot more than I can." Catelynn and Tyler showed strength, maturity, selfless love and ultimate respect for each other during this incredibly tough time. They made the best decision for their baby despite the role models they have had. I was truly inspired by them, and disgusted by their parents
Catelynn and Tyler made this cute couple the happiest people on earth. They were finally able to become parents and have this little miracle join their family. Let's just say I bawled, from start to finish. It was the happiest/saddest thing I have on TV.
This show led me to the real reason for my blog post...I have two cousins that have both been able to adopt because of selfless girls that wanted to give their baby a better life. One cousin has been on the search for baby number two for the last little while. It took a really long time to get their first daughter and are hoping that perhaps by word of mouth, baby number two could come sooner.... With that said, I am telling the world of cyberspace that we are LOOKING FOR BABIES!
Both of my cousins that are searching for babies are sisters, it is nice that they have each other and that the cousins will have one another. I of course think my family is the world's greatest. I cannot imagine a better home for a baby to be welcomed, loved, and raised in. If anyone knows or hears of someone putting a baby up for adoption, think of my my cousins!

that makes me sad but happy that she did the right thing! I wish more people would do the right thing and give their gift to those who can provide and protect under better circumstances!
I totally watched that show last night and cried my eyes out. Those teens were spot on with their decision and views on the matter. Most the kids on this show do not even but as much thought into keeping the baby as these kids did to give it to someone else.
I think we need to watch T.V. together. So far it sounds like we watch the same shows and freak out about the same things in them. lol
I hear about that episode, I was really touched too. And her boyfriend was so supportive too! Amazing.
craziness...that show is silly...but they did make the right decision! i can't believe their parents wanted them to keep the baby. good for them! good luck to your cousins!
I've gotten hooked to this show too... I haven't seen this episode yet, but Sommer has and said she bawled too! I'll be thinking of your cousins, and hope they have sweet babies to bring home soon!
I think it would be so hard to give up a baby even at that age but very necessary. I would like to see that show but I have a feeling I would start crying as well!
I watched it too and couldnt agree more! You put it so well! : ) Hope you two are fantastic!
I watched it to! It was so heart breaking, I think it is so amazing that even without the parents support she still went ahead with it. I was balling! I too, first hand will have to deal with adoption, so it was so neat that this girl gave up the baby. Best of luck to your cousins!
I just saw that episode last night and I was just so impressed with and touched by both of them. I was crying throughout the episode and really saw the beauty of adoption. Best of luck to your cousins and great post!
I dont get that channel but from what I hear it brings everyone to tears!! I think it was so sweet of you to post on behalf of your cousins! If ever I hear anything I'll send news your way! Love you lady!
Ok so I'm like the millionth person to comment on this, but I too watched that episode last night! I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who cried! I can not believe how mature they were!
Did you watch the season finale where they all came on the show?...How lame am I?? :)
I feel exactly the same way paige!
Paige I totally cried my eyes out on that show too!! They were so incredibly strong. I loved your whole post about this! You are tender hearted!
paige, i know this post was like a month ago, but you know i HAVE to comment. :)
OH THE TEARS! i watched this episode by myself, late at night, and ugly-faced bawled! i can't believe that at 16 these two little lovebirds had such an understanding of the importance of bringing a baby into the world. they are seriously my heroes! and did you watch the finale episode where all the moms and babies came together to talk about their experiences and dr. drew hosted? the adoptive couple was there too and brought their baby. it was just beautiful! :)
oh, and about your cousins...are they listed with an agency? LDSFS? if they are wanting to go the private agency route, have them email me...we are on our 2nd now too and i have a ton of info on different agencies, financial aid, and international adoption too. i'd be happy to help if i can!
