I don't understand how the designers work. I swear they can decorate a home with five thousand dollars and it looks incredible and like a completely new home! (i think its a big scam and that they lie about prices because it's just not possible to find such cute things for so cheap!) For me, doesn't matter how big or little my budget is (although it's small!), I still can't decorate!
Since I haven't been chosen for any of the shows, I'm turning to all of you for help!
This is my bed:

My first thought is to do some black dressers with a mirror nightstand, cute right? My mom is reminding me that i have children and that my mirror nightstand will just be a bunch of finger prints.... i still like the idea though.
Any other ideas out there for me? I feel like i have searched everywhere in AZ, but I'm just not finding what i want. Where do you get your furniture?! All help and suggestions needed.

Paige, check out homegoods for some inexpensive & cute stuff for your house. I've seen mirrored nightstands there. My biggest advice is just to wait and let the dust settle and not rush into making too many choices all at once.
my grandmother is an interior decorator and is amazing so I am going to tell you what she always tells me, keep it light and airy. I am obsessed with black and white and she always tells me to be cautious with black furniture, you can do it, but make sure its a piece you love cause it's a very deep statement. She always suggest white to keep things airy. And she would LOVE the mirror night table. Believe it or not Target has a REALLY cute one, I think it's still there. I love your bed and bedding but if it were me I would throw in a few accent pillows to mix it up so it's not so matchy matchy and you see more of your personal touches on there. I bet your home will be gorgeous! can't wait to see pictures!
We got basically our whole apt. here from IKEA. Target and Home Goods has great cheap stuff. Those nightstands sound great, but your mom is probably right... Ikea has cute cheap nightstands. I'd go with white nightstands, but that's just me. I'm really into white right now. Love your bed! Good luck!
LOVE the bed! agree with the finger prints. They drive me nuts! However you can just have your room be off limits to the boys!! Hahaha!! I can't wait to see your place!
Yes! Those HGTV shows are not real! Usually the average family room from top to bottom is about 12k. There is always a high mid low range. Check out the website houzz.com I saw some cute modern contemp. nightstands there. If you are looking for industrial I have a place for that...Keep going and don't be in a hurry.
Okay sorry for double post...Look on Overstock.com Look under living room end tables. Bedside tables are going to be too small with the size of the headboard on the bed....it would look like doll furniture. There are a ton listed and cheap shipping!
I'm in the same dilemma. I know what I want from pictures and magazines ... but I don't know how to do it in my home or where to find it. My aunt who lives like 15 min from me is a master at home decorating. She took me to some really great antique and consignment shops this past week. I fell in love. I found some super cute things (that she will come over and put in place for me.) Let me know if you want the name of the shops and I'll get that info for you. Good luck with your house!
Ok here is my advice so take it for what it is worth. My saving grace has been overstock.com...they have great prices so really fun modern furniture for a good price and shipping is $2, how can you beat that. As far as the nightstands go...do what you like, sure you will have to wipe off fingerprints occasionally but if that is the style you like i say go with it. I have a clear and mirror table and I love it, yes there are fingerprints, but you don't have to wipe them everyday.
I love me some homegoods, but I REALLY love cost plus world market! They have some amazing stuff! When you are done with yours, come do mine!
I have black mirrored oversized nightstands...I love them! The fingerprints happen, but honestly, they're a piece of cake to clean, and as long as you're not crazy obsessive about them being clean 100% of the time, I don't think it's a big deal. Ours are originally from Z Gallery, but we got them on sale at Downeast for like 50% off...I don't know if they have any of those in Arizona, but I've found great stuff there!
PS- This is Lindsey Pinegar, I'm on Matthew's computer and can't remember my sign in name and password, of course:)
