angel kiss

..... also known as a port wine stain.

I figured after posting so many pictures I should post about Porter's special "kiss". I know lots of people are wondering so I will just come right out and post about it. Yes, the mark on the right side of Porter's face is a kiss, a birth mark kind of kiss. It may fade on its own, it may be permanent, but it can be removed with laser  treatments..... that's all we know for now.

At first I cried..... or more then that balled. Not for me, but for Porter. No one wants to think that their baby is "different" or will possibly get made fun of because of a birth mark. No mother wants to hear a doctor say their baby has "discoloration of the skin". My baby is perfect, even with a red mark. I know he is absolutely beautiful and will grow up to be a handsome man.

When I get sad or feel sorry for my baby, I think of his big brother that will beat up any teasers or mean kids.... and then I think about Porter's size, and realize he too will be big and strong and can handle anything that comes his way. We love our little guy and everything about him. We are so grateful to have been blessed with a completely healthy and strong little guy.

He is stunning. Aubrey was born with the same "port wine stain" on her head. Her spot was the size of my fist. It eventually lightened, but took a few years. I found it very endearing...a unique part of her.

I can't wait to meet him. You look beautiful...

Your baby is perfect. =) My youngest has a "defect" on his ear, it's shaped funny. When the nurse called it a defect, I was shocked. And I cried and cried because I didn't want him to be different. I don't even see it anymore. They said we could get it fixed, but as he gets older it's less and less noticeable, and it almost makes me sad, because it's such a part of him.

Congratulations Paige!!! I can't believe how good you look after giving birth. Seriously...you look great. Aren't Brittani's gowns great!?!
Hattie also had a little mark on her stomach in the shape of a heart and it faded by the time she was about two. We loved it.
You need to talk to Rebecca Damron. I don't know if you remember but little Kate had a mark on her forehead and with a few treatments it just disappeared. Seriously, nothing to worry about. He sure looks darling!

He is darling! So excited to see him...BOTH McKell and Hallie had "Angel Kisses" too. Theirs were between their eyes and over their eyelids. You can not tell they even had them now....I could tell if I had a sick baby if their kiss got a bit redder...Instant thermometer! All is well!
