After Porter was born and our visitors left, they took us upstairs and got us set up in a new room. Our new nurse was Stephanie, another amazing nurse! We got all settled into our room and Porter was given his first little bath. He loved it!
I love his tongue!
After his bath my sister in law delivered what might be the best hospital delivery ever..... FOOD, and not just any food, but La Grande Orange pizza, salad, cookies, and various other treats. Oh it was heaven. Nothing better then LGO, especially after hours of no eating.
true fat kids!
Shortly after we finished eating, my mom and dad came back to the hospital with Preston. My sweet boy that I had been missing and thinking about all day long was finally coming! I was really nervous to see how he would react, but really I couldn't wait to just have both my boys in my arms and kiss on them.
Our first family picture!
Preston is always such a happy boy!
The new Hughes Family
One of my favorite pictures!
Preston was darling and very sweet. He has no understanding of being soft, so we watch him like a hawk. He loves to kiss him and put his head next to Porter's, but thats about it. We kissed on Preston, thanked my parents, and then said goodnight.
That night I got some of the best sleep I have had in months! Porter slept for five hours, then nursed and fell right back asleep for another five. The two five hour stretches of sleep was heavenly! I woke up way before him feeling so refreshed and recharged. Since he and Glen were both still sleeping I decided to take a shower and change out of the hospital garb and into some pj's.
We sat around all morning cuddling and sleeping.
Finally at around 3 in the afternoon the nurse came into our room and began the discharge process. We were out of the hospital by 3:30 and home by 4. It was wonderful. Nothing like coming home to a house full of people awaiting to meet the newest addition. Everyone is obsessed with our Porter and we couldn't be a happier family!

I am so happy for you Paige! You are glowing after labor! Your family is so beautiful and Porter is so precious. I love how you addressed his angel kiss! It makes him even more of a special blessing. He is perfect and so handsome. Congratulations!!
so sweet!!! once you posted about his birth mark I tried to go through each picture and find it- :) he is just a doll and looks so small in glen's arms. And well, he looks tiny compared to preston too. Perfect family.
What an angel! You know, a friend of mine had a son with a "strawberry angel kiss" between his eyes and up his whole forehead, and it pretty much disappeared by the time he was two. I really hadn't even noticed Porter's in the pictures!! So glad to hear you're both doing well! Preston sure was cute in church! We could tell he was TIRED!!!!
Congrats!!! He's adorable!!
Such an amazing story! I can't believe you did it all on your own! I just remember them saying, "Try not to push, the doctor will be here soon!", and me thinking, "NOT gonna happen! He's comin' with or without him" lol. It kind of makes ya wonder why we pay the doctor for the "delivery"... hmm haha. I'm glad you had a better experience this time though, I was worried! You sound like you're doing well though and you look fantastic! He's such a beauty! Congrats :)
i love your cute little family of four, paige! porter is a doll and preston will be such a cute big brother :) i hope we can catch up when i get back into town! i'm dying to meet porter and see your new place!
